Here’s a nice children’s animated film just in time for the holidays. Frozen in Time is available on DVD and tells a unique story that will be absolutely fun for the youngsters of the family. Cute and cuddly animation, excellent family values and a warmhearted ending complete the nicely written comical adventure. Highly recommended, the movie lasts for a nice 45 minutes.
The story opens with Eric (voice Valin Shinvei) and Patty (voice Alyssya Swales) awakening for their trip to Grandpa’s (voice Ed Azner) house for Christmas Eve. All packed and ready to go dad (Colin Murdock), mom (Mira Sorvino) and older brother Brody (Drake Bell) head for the winter home of their eldest family member. On the way, a few mishaps happen because Eric decided to bring his dog Arnie along, but they finally arrive in good order.
Grandpa’s a nice old fellow and an eccentric inventor who has all kinds of weird things that do his work for him including an “audio sync cook-a-roo”. Eric and Patty end an outside adventure with having to go to their room for disobeying and the next day get into more mischief when they break grandpa’s clock sending them back to the beginning of their trip and repeating their day all over again. Frozen in time the two kids have to find their way out of their repeat dilemma while changing their mistakes.
Along with a fun and comical story much like the movie Groundhog Day, Frozen in Time is a lesson in obeying your parents, doing the right thing, helping others and most of all the importance of family. The characters are lovable and enjoyable to watch so the kids should watch the film over again.
