After an apocalyptic war that nearly destroys the world, the lands and people have become hostile. Survival for anyone is very difficult and danger lurks around every corner. The survivors and their leaders now search for wanderers they can turn into slaves for their amusement.
Molly (Julia Batelaan) is a young women who is searching for a safe place to live in the dangerous world she now lives in. Traveling can be treacherous and she sometimes has to fight for her life. Running from peril and fighting for survival Molly knows she has a purpose in this world and must continue forward.
During her time in the wilderness, Molly discovers a young girl named Bailey (Emma de Peauw), who was left alone to survive on her own. She decides to protect Bailey and takes her on this hazardous journey. Together they face the dangers this world has to offer and survival is the only choice.
Director and writers, Colinda Bongers and Thijs Meuwese bring you a world of despair, destruction, and lawlessness. Similar to the ‘Mad Max’ series but in the eyes of this strong willed female, they are able to show the strength that this young woman has to survive. The storyline is fantastic and helps the story come alive, but the choreographed fighting scenes need some work. Most of the fighting does not blend well and makes the characters look as if they are letting her win each battle.
This Dutch action filled science fiction film that was originally release in 2017 has its potential and is worth watching on DVD. If you like films depicting the end of the world and life after its destruction, then this story is worth watching.
This film will be released nationwide on DVD, Blu-ray, and video on demand, on Tuesday October 2, 2018. The disc includes several bonus options such as, the director’s commentary, a segment on the making of Molly, and the original trailer.
Final Comment: I based my grade on this incredible storyline, believable special effects, but poorly depicted choreography. (3 out of 5 Stars).
