Halloween is right around the corner and although celebrations may look different this year, Rakuten Viki, the largest streaming service for Asian content, is making sure viewers still get to indulge in spooky thrills and chills. Scary movie fanatics know that when it comes to the genre, the U.S. can learn a thing or two about horror films from Asia, so leading into Halloween night, Rakuten Viki is hosting two horror watch parties, along with launching a robust collection of thriller titles.
On October 28, viewers can join in on the scary fun with a watch party for The Wailing, which centers on a policeman who investigates a series of mysterious killings and illnesses in a remote Korean hamlet called Gokseong. Then, on Halloween night, check out Rampant, a Korean thriller about the spread of a zombie plague. Any movie lover can participate for free just by logging onto Viki.com and clicking the title’s icon under the Watch Party banner on the homepage. You’ll be able to share in the scare with others in the Rakuten Viki community via chat and emojis.
If you can’t make it to one of the big watch parties, you might want to still cuddle up on the sofa with the “Spooki Viki” Halloween collection, which will be available starting October 15. The line-up consists of over 40 Asian horror titles that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. Some of the chilling titles included hit zombie thriller Train to Busan, Tale of the Nine-Tailed, Search, Hotel Del Luna and much more.
