A fine comedy adventure for pre-teens to twenties, Strange World has been released by Disney+. The fully animated feature takes you on a wild comedy adventure from a normal world to one of amazing creatures inside a new cavernous universe. The creature characters are all new and the family, friends and explorers are humans, much like us with everyday problems, forging a future and just plain growing up. While it’s safe for the whole family, there are a few scary creatures that may give a bit of a fright to the littlest of tykes.
The Clade family of Searcher, his wife Meridian and teenage son Ethan are running their crop farm in Avalonia following the loss of Searcher’s father, the great explorer Jaeger. When a crop failure of an important plant that is keeping Avalonia alive rears up from the depths of their world, the family teams up with Callisto Mal and her team to delve into the unknown below their land.
The animation is extremely good as usual with Disney depicting an extraordinary world with startling creatures and some cute ones for the youngsters. The story is all new, even though it may feel a bit like a “Journey to the Center of the Earth” revisit for us older persons. But like all Disney features, you can easily adjust to the adventure as a new experience.
