From a teen point of view Terminator: Dark Fate is awesome. The opening scenes are terrific and really put you on notice that everything is about to change again. I like all the action, especially the robots and the new Terminator Rev-9. There is so much more happening in Dark Fate than the other sequels, except maybe The Terminator 1984 that started it all.
The world is a mess with robots killing everything that movies and to add more, the future gets cancelled when John Connor gets killed by T-800 when he’s young changing everything Sara did to stop his future takeover. It’s a shocker, but it opens the door to a different set of heroes, Dani Ramos and Grace. In this episode we find out that the future has worked its way into near extinction, but Grace gets sent back to safeguard Dani Ramos.
But Sara Connor is still crazed by the fact that her son has been killed and wants to pursue those that have set it up. Getting messages from the past she finds out that the Rev-9 has come back to do damage and the target is Grace and Dani. It’s the beginning of a non-stop chase that puts the audience on a roller coaster ride to excitement and extreme terror.

I liked this sequel with Linda Hamilton as Sara Connor returning to help save Dani for the future leader of the resistance. She’s even tougher than her earlier years and still has some awesome moves when she fights off Rev-9. The newest savior, Mackenzie Davis as Grace shows her skills as a soldier of the future 2042. She’s a cyborg, but mostly flesh and blood. Her fearless fighting skills made me think of Milla Jovovich from Resident Evil.
Making Rev-9 look very real and relentlessly evil Gabriel Luna makes the T-800 look like a toy. This machine has the same steel outside but on the inside his an endoskeleton that can separate and become as much a killer. It’s like fighting two machines that keep on recreating themselves.
The film is perfect for teens and although rated R for violence, language and a brief scene of nudity, if they’re gamers and mature enough, I don’t see a problem with maybe 13 and up.
