The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is Family Fun

Pom Klementieff as Mantis in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney+

Marvel Studios hit a high note with their latest Disney+ release of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and it’s not just for kids. The one hour special features a touching story of bringing Christmas back from Earth. What helps the charming film is the festive and enchanting music and a story filled with a whole lot of comedy mixed with heart.

In his youth while circulating the universe Peter Quill was dismayed when Kraglin told everyone on board the space ship that he hated Christmas and showed it with his anger. Years later the grown up Peter is still on another planet and Mantis along with Drax wants to surprise him with a special reintroduction of the holiday.

Chris Pratt as Peter Quill and Dave Bautista as Drax in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special only on Disney+

Determined to bring back Christmas by going to Earth, Drax and Mantis find the going difficult, but slow but sure their capers help them to create an outcome fit for any space traveler. Director James Gunn who wrote the original two Guardians of the Galaxy films does a great job of mixing Animation with live action. Using the original actors from (and voices actors) from the first releases, he’s spot on for the audience that loves his adventures.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special has not been rated by the TV Bureau, but I found it safe for kids who watch the Disney Channel and over. The TV special is now available on Disney+ under the Marvel label.
