Tomorrow is the last episode Nina Dobrev will breathe life into Elena Gilbert on the Vampire Diaries. For some this will be a terrible loss as her character has played a pivotal role throughout most of the series. This brings to question — what will they do to replace her on the show so it doesn’t suck (no pun intended) next season?
In the video clip here, Executive Producers Caroline Dries and Julie Plec talk about how this episode will be the bittersweet farewell to the character Elena Gilbert, and emphasize how everyone’s life is now hanging in the balance with Kai’s sudden and unexpected return to their present reality after being locked away in the prison world by Bonnie.
It seems as if Kai’s previous “good side” has now been subdued somehow. You won’t know for sure until you tune in and see whether he gets his just desserts … or if he will live to reign down his torturous rampage another day. (But let’s face it, we love to hate him.)
Kai puts it in perspective for many fans when he says this in the upcoming episode, “Looks like someone is having a very bad day…” And there will be many characters on the show that do after all the shock wears off and the dust from the devastation settles. Not to mention the fans.
