Kind of a wacky movie, but those who like fantasy films with good acting, direction and a quirky storyline should enjoy Bliss. The world for the two main characters gets turned upside down, when Greg Wittle (Owen Wilson) gets fired from his managerial job. However this event gets out of control and he accidently kills his boss.
Panicking, Greg leaves the four story office building where he works and goes to the nearest bar. There he meets Isabel (Salma Hayek), a homeless woman who lives under a nearby bridge. Having seen what Greg’s problem is she offers to make it all go away. With a little magic from her strange pills, Greg’s “murder” is taking a twist for the better. But, Isabel wants Greg to check out her world in return. Thus begins a tale of emotion, revelation and a chance to take a look at his past mistakes.

The film is nicely written and directed by Mike Cahill who brought the excellent actors together for this comical yet emotional film. It is great seeing Owen Wilson back with his wry sense of humor and Salma Hayek adding her talent to make this very different and complex project work.
Bliss has been Rated R by the MPAA for drug content, language, some sexual material and violence. The film is showing exclusively on Amazon Prime Video starting Friday February 5th. Like all R rated movies, please check them out first before letting immature children watch the film. My rating is 3.5 out of 5 Stars.
