Every now and again something comes along and surprises us. Norwegian horror-house pop act Tôg constitutes a bit of fresh air in the form of sizzling synthesizers, 60’s combo organs, arpeggio swirls and thumping, italo-house beats embodied by songwriter Lars Christian Olsen and friends.
Like ushering in Christmas in Springtime bearing gifts from the North, here’s the awesome they just dropped down our chimney …
Popular in Norway, Tôg is kicking down doors with their single “Sansen” which proves to be a darkly rich treat for the ears. Dripping with honey-ed vocals, thumping beats and electrifying synth layered over organ, the Tôg track breathes life into horror-house with a different kind of vitality than a band like The Horrors brought to the game. This reads way more fun. Fun in the way the Studio 54’s dark basement-room debauchery was fun, contrasting The Horrors’ frenetic, wild-child energy. This is more laid back and very cool.

Now, the band has set their sights stateside to play a selection of US dates to spread their infectiously dark and dancey tunes that give a nod to gypsy music, horror film scores, trip-hop and house legends.
To celebrate their upcoming US tour, Tôg will be releasing a very special limited edition 10″ vinyl for Reint Mel (I Påsen Din) here in the US – a double sided masterpiece of all their hit-singles in Norway to date including remixes by Teengirl Fantasy – and more!
