“INVASION” Intense War Action

If you are up for a good war action film that’s not just about the world wars, then look no further than “Invasion”. The movie takes you into the Caribbean Sea where some small countries face off against each other. It’s a bit over the top however, but don’t take that as a negative.

The small Dutch islands of Curacao and Aruba team up for a fight against Veragua, one of Panama’s states. The dispute comes about over a mishap involving the Veragua leader being held by Curacao for extradition to the USA. With only a small Dutch army on the base of Curacao, the larger Veragua military attack the island in an attempt to get back the hostage. Being a highly trained Marine Army of the Dutch Island however, they fight back with a never say die attitude.

The action rarely lets up under the direction of Bobby Boermans so be ready with a lot of popcorn. To hold his audience from getting antsy, he keeps the story easy to follow with a musical score that’s upbeat and exciting. Even though some of the fighting at times may look a bit commonplace for avid thriller audiences, the actors constantly make it look realistic while fighting in harm’s way. There are a few twists that you may not see coming, one of which adds some comic relief.

Invasion has not been rated by the MPAA, but contains war violence, some language, and gore. Be cautious when wanting to let immature children see the film. I recommend the film for action lovers that may want to see some smaller countries have it out with each other.
