The first wave of Apple Watches is finally arriving to the lucky few who ordered early. Meanwhile, everyone else — except for those willing to line up at boutique stores — will just have to wait until June, when the supply is supposed to catch up with demand.
The site is usually a place for storing and sharing 3D imagery, but this Apple Watch rendering is something special: It combines the watch with live video from your webcam to create a kind of augmented-reality image. Hold up your arm, capture a screencap and voilà, you’ve got yourself an Apple Watch selfie.
What’s more, you move and rotate the watch just like any other 3D image, so you can size the virtual watch for a fit that’s even better than the real thing (it comes in two sizes: 38mm and 42mm). There’s no way to switch the black band for something a little more chic, but baby steps.
In any case, fire Sketchfab up, arm yourself and see how many friends you can fool. What else are you going to do — line up for the real thing?

I write like I think—fast, curious, and a little feral. I chase the weird, the witty, and the why-is-this-happening-now. From AI meltdowns to fashion glow-ups, if it makes you raise an eyebrow or rethink your algorithm, I’m probably writing about it. Expect sharp takes, occasional sarcasm, and zero tolerance for boring content.
