A typical introduction to the world of Marvel and superhero’s, the TV show Ms. Marvel targets teens and pre-teens. The film is shown in a series of 6 episodes on Disney+ and it’s actually pretty good for the age groups. In some cases the film inspires as well as entertains. It’s the kind of film where the adventure gets pretty exciting as the character starts changing. However, true Marvel Comic fans will have to get used to Disney Marvel changes in the Marvel Universe with this one.
Kamala Kahn’s (Iman Vellani) a teen in high school with a family that’s over protective of their daughter. Her father Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur) and mother Muneeba (Zenobia Shroff) are hard working parents and Kamala’s older brother Amir (Saagar Shaikh) is about to get married.. Kamala attends Coles Academic High School in New Jersey and her biggest problem is recovering from a failed driver’s license road test.
Her best friend is Bruno Carrelli (Matt Lintz) and the two are trying to get to the superhero event so Kamala can get a chance to be selected as Captain Marvel. The show goes on from there as we find Kamala being impressed by the new kid in class, her developing polymorphous powers and finding about her mysterious past. Each episode reveals more about Ms. Marvel and the use of her powers to protect people. Oh, and give some “payback” on a few bullies..
Ms. Marvel arrives on Disney+ June 7 and each of the 6 episodes is added each week. The acting by Iman Vellani as Kamala is very good and should bring her a lot of fans and followers as she progresses in the movie business. Ms. Marvel has been rated TV-PG. It contains some action violence and rude language.
