A wild adventurous crime thriller, the movie Pixie moves along at fast pace spooling out a very dirty deed. It’s a very good film for crime action fans that will want to hit the reply button, but just to believe what they saw the first time through. Nicely directed and acted, it’s full of twists with some you won’t see coming.
Looking at her mother’s gravestone in cemetery in Ireland, Pixie (Olivia Cooke) talks about how she has a plan of revenge and escape. But in order to pull it off she’ll need a little help, a lot of money and a lot of luck. Pixie’s plan; know the where about of a large sum of money that’s Not in a bank. Get someone devoted to her that has the nerve to pull off the robbery and can be trusted. And most importantly have a plan to disappear.

Thus begins a wild, wicked and crazy adventure that should have you on the edge of your couch with all the nonstop violence, mayhem and irreverent comedy. One of the better thrillers, the direction by Barnaby Thompson, from a script by his brother Preston, delivers a lot of excitement as he puts Olivia Cooke through some daring scenes. His movie should remind you of a Quinton Tarantino film where you expect the unexpected and you get it.

Filmed and set in Ireland, Thompson makes the most out of the pubs, landscape, old buildings, a countryside church and stone sided houses for sets and scenery. His cast also comprises of some very fine acting from few Irish notables including; Alec Baldwin as Father Hector McGrath, Ben Hardy as Frank McCullen (Bohemian Rhapsody), and Colm Meaney as Dermot O’Brien (Layer Cake, The Devil’s Hand). Actually there’s not a bad scene in the film as Thompson works his cast without a hitch.

But the star of this show is Olivia Cooke who kick’s ass as Pixie the darling with a wicked temper. Here we find her on the wrong end of a plan gone badly and has to fight her way through every mistake. She’s fun to watch on the screen as Pixie has to change her attitude often in order to get the upper hand or at least a chance to get even.
