“Super-Pets” Save The Day

DWAYNE JOHNSON as Krypto and KEVIN HART as Ace in Warner Bros. Pictures’ “DC LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

Review by Ian Delia

DC League of Super-Pets brings an animated spin on a comic book series where superheroes have their very own furry partner in crime. As a pet may have similar personalities to us as humans, the Legion of Super-Pets match their Justice League owners as well as having their powers. It’s a fun ride.

(L-R) DIEGO LUNA as Chip, VANESSA BAYER as PB, DWAYNE JOHNSON as Krypto, KEVIN HART as Ace and NATASHA LYONNE as Merton in Warner Bros. Pictures’ animated action adventure “DC LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

From their home planet, Krypton to their travel to Earth, Krypto the super dog and Superman are an inseparable duo. Krypto, possessing the same flying, power and other abilities as his owner, fights crime alongside the amazing Superman as well as for the animal community. Being the only super pet around makes fighting crime easy, but when Lulu, a guinea pig once schooled by the infamous Lex Luther, kidnaps Superman by draining his powers with Kryptonite, it puts him out of commission.

With one of their group in trouble, it’s time for the super pets to take action. By harnessing their newfound powers, the rag-tag team of Ace the dog, PB the pig, Chip the squirrel, and Morton the turtle put their team on the line.

KATE McKINNON as Lulu in Warner Bros. Pictures’ animated action adventure “DC LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

DC league of Super-Pets not only gives you an inside look into the life and mind of a pet but also shows how a pet always follows its motto, “love unconditionally.” The film is rated PG for action, mild violence, language, and rude humor. Although some may find the “bleeped-out” profanity comedic, it is NOT needed and takes away from the cute aspect of the film. For kids, my rating is 3 out of 5, inquisitive adults are also included.
