SUPERGIRL is Action Packed

Milly Alcock as SUPERGIRL and Matthias Schoenaerts as KREM in DC Studios’ and Warner Bros. Pictures’ “SUPERGIRL”

Adding to the DC Comic agenda, the film Supergirl gives it a boost. In the film we find an exciting young adult from the same planet of Superman showing her special powers and fighting skills. The storyline may be a bit jaded if you watch a lot of the spin offs from Star Wars, ie Mandalorian and Andor, but it’s still a lot of fun to watch.

Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock) a cousin of Superman travels to planets in the Galaxy following the destruction of Krypton her home planet. Much like Superman, she carries with her memories of her past that she left behind. On this trip she runs into Ruthye (Eve Ridley) who is trying to find the brigand Krem (Matthias Schoenaerts) who killed her family. Taking on the task of helping her, the two find themselves in some chaotic situations.

Putting the sci-fi saga on the screen Director Craig Gillespie opens with excitement and works his magic throughout with some thrilling action scenes that out shine the last Superman film. The story does remind me of other space adventures like Guardians of the Galaxy, but this one has a cooler edge.

Eve Ridley as RUTHYE in DC Studios’ and Warner Bros. Pictures’ “SUPERGIRL”, a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

Milly Alcock and Eve Ridley shine as a pair of ne’er do wells who come together to fight for justice. As Kara and Ruthye they put on a good show. Supergirl is both Milly and Eve’s first full length feature, but Milly can be seen in a cameo during the last Superman.

Supergirl has been rated PG-13 by the MPA for sequences of strong violence, action, language, and smoking. But since the film has been rated for teens to 20’s a warning goes out that there’s extensive drinking in the movie as well. If you are into adventure that features a lot of sci-fi action then check out Supergirl.
