A horror flick that takes a few different turns to churn up the fear factor, The Beach House does a decent job of working its way into your psyche. The production value is very good and the acting better than average. If you want a weird way to get a shock or two this film, now on Blu-ray and DVD, will do the trick.
Emily (Liana Liberato) and Randall (Noah Le Gros) decide to spend some time at Randall’s family beach house to get a chance to unwind and rewire their relationship before Memorial Day. There they are surprised to find that Mitch (Jake Weber) and Jane Turner (Maryanne Nagel), friends of Randall’s estranged father, are occupying the place. With plenty of room for everyone, the group decides to enjoy the beach house together.

Randall has brought along some eatable pot and the two couples chew down on it. As the night starts to envelope the beach house a mystic aura shrouds the residence. But what really gets frightening is the effect it’s having on the two couples.

Not too bad if you are looking for something different. The Beach House is not rated but does contain, language, drug use, some violence and ghastly images. (2.5 out of 5 stars)
