A very violent movie, Triggered takes you on a trip into the woods and puts your brain to the test as to who’s next to die. The film has a horror feel to it with some jumpy moments and a lot of blood and guts. Although not original, I haven’t seen this plot in a long while so most thriller fans should like all the action.
Lured into the woods because of an accidental death of a former fellow high school student are Erin (Liesl Ahlers), Rian (Reine Swart), Ezra (Steven Ward), Shea (Suraya Rose Santos), Cici (Kayla Privett), Bobby (Michael Lawrence Potter), Kato (Russel Crous) PJ (Cameron Scott) and Amber (Paige Bonnin). Not having seen each other in a very long time they start to talk about some of their angst during their senior year.

After some time they mysteriously fall asleep and when they awaken, they realized they are doomed with a bomb strapped to their bodies. In the lighted small screen on their chest is the ominous message “only one will get out alive”. One by one they start to fall as the others try to figure a way to stop all the killing.

The production value is actually very good and the acting is above par. I like the way Director Alastair Orr sets up the story with some emotional moments between each of the former students, then starts to turn them sour about relationships before turning them against each other. By the time the audience starts taking sides, things aren’t what they seem.

The film has not been rated but contains a lot of extreme violence, has some very gory scenes, rude and crude language and some drug use.
My score on this one is based on the fan base and age group of 3.5 out of 5 Stars.
