THE FANTSTIC 4: FIRST STEPS, Now on Blu-ray 4k
Where The Wind Blows May Change Their Lives

Where The Wind Blows May Change Their Lives

Life in the old west can be difficult for most, but for some who are strong willed and determined this terrain is what they were born for. Danger can approach you at any moment, from a traveling drifter to a fierce animal, a tribal native, or just a plain outlaw. You had to be ready for anything to invade your environment, or your time on this earth would end abruptly. Being a female during these times was hard and difficult. Without a man in their life, a woman would be labeled and forever marked as no good, controlling her fate for the rest of her life.

Travelling through the countryside performing tasks for their boss, Chase Logan (Trevor Donovan) and Nathan (C. Thomas Howell) are taking some time to relax from a hard ride and visit a local saloon and brothel. When an incident occurs that will change their fate, Chase must travel to inform Jessie (Ashley Elaine), Nathan’s wife, what they both experienced that night. Now having to face her new predicament, Jessie has to figure out how to continue her plans to adopt this young girl that she befriended, to save this girl from the evils she has been suffering.

Throughout the tale you meet some interesting people, first Mrs. Hollyhock (Michelle Hurd), a local store owner and friend of Jessie, helps look out for her. Then there is Mr. Hobbs (Don Swayze), who works for the orphanage, and he is transporting two children to their new families, a young girl (no credit) and Gabe (Cole Keriazakos) a young go-getter who accompanies him on these trips. Also, there other interesting encounters includes two brothers, Joe (Colin Egglesfield) and Lonnie (Rob Mayes), Sheriff Tom Edwards (Gabriel Clark), US Marshall (David Flannigan), Reverend Hawthorne (Dennis M Shackelford), Frank Lloyd (Lochlyn Munro) a Banker in Loganville and a Local Native American (Walter Runningcrane Jr.).

Director and writer John Schimke does a good job creating this film based on the acclaimed novel by USA Today’s Bestselling Author Caroline Fyffe. The overall atmosphere and presentation gave the appearance of a made for television type movie, like something you would see on the Hallmark channel. There are some religious references, mixed into a love story adventure between two individuals that don’t seem to realize they are meant for each other. John does include some fighting scenes that do result in some deaths, but he does not include the gore. The performance by the crew is satisfactory and they do get the job done, but it seems to give off a bland ambiance.

This fun and entertaining film does develop into a nice love story that includes the old west and the problems of those times. There is some gun fighting that was done well and does include a predictable ending that fits with the delivery on one of the cable networks. All in all, it will give you what you expect and definitely entertain those that like these types of movies.

Final Comment: I based my grade on the good storyline and a made for television execution from the cast.

Stars 3.25 out of 5
