Inside Out, An Emotional PIXAR Comedy

Just when you thought you knew what was going on in your child’s brain, up pops Inside Out a funny little film from Disney/PIXAR. The animation is PIXAR flawless, the direction pin point and the voice acting, well “pitch perfect”. The family film however is not without a downside as I feel it’s a bit too depressing. This little adventure is amusing, but let’s hope the sequel is a little more cheerful, adventurous, filled with fasciation and kindhearted next time. “Just saying.” Read more

Strange Magic, a Cool Animated Film

Although the film Strange Magic, now on DVD, did not receive a huge theatrical box-office like most animated films, for me it’s a fun filled, artistically beautiful film that just missed its audience. The film actually works for most children 3 to 13, but should get more attention from females. I like the superb animation, very good voice acting and enjoyable soundtrack.

Entering the Blu-ray home video market after appearing on the screen in 1961, the animated feature 101 Dalmatians has been released from the Disney vault as a Diamond Edition. This is the original film by Walt Disney that entertained kids for years. Nicely remastered with 7.1 DTS-HDMA sound the film has a good look with freshened up colors. If you can remember the original, than this is perfect for your library. Not to be confused with the 1991 remake of the film starring the voice of Glenn Close, this one features the remarkable cast lead by Betty Lou Gerson as Cruella de Vil. Read more
