Get ready for a shootout that puts the viewer in the crosshairs of some very talented sharpshooters. With a half-baked storyline however, Seven Snipers loses its grip as it turns out a “Custer’s Last Stand” in a barnyard.

Now living a quiet life on a secluded farm with her daughter Anja (Annabel Wolfe), Voodoo Child (Radha Mitchell) a retired military sniper is living an ordinary life. One day five of her former squad shows up unexpectedly. When a strange gunshot rings out, the six get in a battle against a lone wolf with a keen eye and a bone to pick.

The unexpected shootout gets challenging when Anja is put in harm’s way. Director Sandra Sciberras sets up her scenes making camouflage one of the threats against her protagonists. Moving the story along at a fast pace, she omits a lot of character breakdown that would be relevant to the story. While it’s not critical, it would have given the film more empathy for the squad and a reason to take sides. With the one location, Sciberras chooses to use less story and more action as she draws out the kills with some limited inane dialogue.
Seven Snipers has been rated R for violence/bloody images and language. The action is the movie and with some very good choreographed scenes the killings look very real. If you are an action junkie and you need some bloody excitement, it’s your cup of tea. However, DO NOT WATCH THE TRAILER beforehand or you’ll walk out of the theater thinking you already saw the film.
