Spreading terror from the very beginning A Quiet Place II flashes back to its prequel as a reminder of what has landed in the area of a small town in America. Reestablishing the prime characters the film puts the survivors of the first film on the run from their current hiding place. They are now looking for others and safety while using what they have learned about their adversaries. It’s a rollercoaster ride with a lot of speedbumps from beginning to a surprising end.

Scared out of hiding and wanting to find others who may have reached safety, Evelyn Abbot (Emily Blunt), her daughter Regan Abbot (Millicent Simmonds), son Marcus Abbot (Noah Jupe), and Evelyn’s newborn are on the run from an alien lifeform. After some time they reach a mill where they meet up with Emmett (Cillian Murphy) a town friend who has been hiding there.

Attacked by the aliens, searching for medical supplies and food the 5 survivors try to stay alive as they set up a plan. Director John Krasinski turns up the heat with this second chapter using a lot of terror and suspense to keep his audience entertained. This sequel is actually better than his initial outing as that one had a lot of slower build-up and character development that sort of made that episode drag a bit. But here he hits a home run with a lot of excitement and adventure.
The cast is very good, especially the excellent performances by Emily Blunt and Millicent Simmonds who play off each as they fend off the horror. As Evelyn, Blunt has to be both father to her son and daughter and mother to her newborn. She’s a strong-willed dynamo and pushes herself to make her character work.

Reprising her role as Regan, Millicent works doubly hard as a teen that has taken a lot on her shoulders in search for a new safe place. Her personality changes throughout as she uses her anger and tenacity to avoid the aliens and find a way for her family to escape the alien onslaught.
A Quiet Place II has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for terror, violence and bloody/disturbing images. If you bring mature pre-teens, makes sure you keep them close to you. Now playing in theaters where you will have the best experience the film can deliver.
