Active Child Announces August Release of Debut Album

The ginger-haired former choir-boy turned falsetto electro-pop crooner Pat Grossi a.k.a Active Child just announced the August 23rd release date for his debut album You Are All I See (Vagrant Records). This comes behind the critical praise and warm reception of last year’s Curtis Lane EP. In addition to the news of a full length album, Grossi is giving audiences and eager fans a taste of what’s to come with a listen to upcoming single “Playing House” which features low-fi indie R&B pop artist and blogger How To Dress Well. Everything about all of this is just spectacular, and we’ll tell you why when you come on inside …

Last year we saw Grossi, going by Active Child, perform at the Brooklyn Bowl with School of Seven Bells. He worked the synth keys and a his harp in harmony with that highly trained voice into a lightening bolt fashioned with understated passion and tossed it into the crowd. This provided a blanket of electricity that charged the room up for the headliner, but always kept those songs, which can be found on the near-perfect Curtis Lane EP, in the back of our buzzing minds.

So here he is again, this time with full ammunition in the package of strong, yet sweetly soaring vocal chords in harmonious accord with How To Dress Well’s Tom Krell. And “Playing House” does have slightly more of an R&B feel with his input. The track is very romantic and swagger-like. Can you imagine a smooth harp-playing Cupid with ginger hair and the voice of an angel?

Active Child is laying out the golden nuggets in preparation for his debut album, and damned if we’re not following the trail with eager anticipation.
