Floating Action Releases Jim James Remix of “Not What I Came For”

From the recently released album Fake Blood comes Floating Action’s newly remixed single Not What I Came For” premiering free for download on RCRDLBL.com. The remix was helmed by My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, whose label Removador Recordings & Solutions co-released the album with Harvest Recordings.

The re-vamped track builds on Floating Action’s folk-tinged electronic rock sound, managing to pull you into the kind of tripped out head-space that allows for the sonic warbles and echoing vocals to color the world observed around and beyond the steady drum beats. It is a reflection on what it means to have the answers, but allowing fate and destiny to take it’s course rather than provide them (and a shoulder) to lean on.

Floating Action is Seth Kauffmen’s musical embodiment. He has released four albums to critical praise and continues to draw attention to his unique brand of songwriting style and skill as Fake Blood makes the rounds following it’s September 4th release. Purchase the album on iTunes.
