DISNEY/PIXAR has released a 3-12 school grades film that delivers a message of not hindering wildlife and it includes some very cool characters. The story has an adult theme also that reminds us not to build highways that are politically charged in objection to Mother Nature. Hoppers, now on Blu-ray does have some action scenes that may be a bit scary for immature youngsters, so beware. For us older folks you should get a kick out of the shenanigans that transpire among all the forest creatures, I did.
Mable (Piper Curda), a 19 year old college student, has been raised by her grandmother Tanaka. Taught to love animals Mable often visits the pond where they enjoyed watching the many animals gathered next to the large beaver dam. Evan now since her grandma has passed, she drops by to see the critters at play. However, something is in the wind and Mayor Jerry (voice of Jon Hamm) is building a city bypass road that will destroy the habitat.
When Mable uses the technology that her class instructor has developed, she gets herself turned into a robotic beaver. So beings a wild and sometimes emotional story that should fill the hearts of youngsters and older adults as well. Directed and co-written by Daniel Chong, he uses the incredible PIXAR energy from hundreds of animators to make the forest and animals huggable and energetic. His story hits home exuding excitement, charm, adventure and surprise.

Hoppers has been rated PG by the MPA for action/peril, some scary images and mild language. If your youngster is timid, the explosions and some of the action involving some scary images may be a bit over the top. Recommended for mature to adults who like excitement and imaginative content 4 out of 5 stars. Releasing on Blu-ray and other home video platforms on June 2, 2026.
