Interview with Kristen Gutoskie and Preview Clip for New Show Containment

Containment is gearing up for its premiere next Tuesday, April 19. Kristin Gutoskie plays Katie Frank, an elementary teacher responsible for students that arrive at the hospital for a field trip and then get quarantined there and cannot leave. One of these students just happens to be her own son.

It is her responsibility to keep them safe and as far away from the infected as possible without really telling them what is going on. At first she doesn’t even know what is going on herself.

She gets the first real taste of the dire circumstances she is in the middle when her son and another one of her students go missing. She enlists the help of a police officer, Jake Riley (Chris Wood, Vampire Diaries), to help her find them. It’s only after they both go in search of the children that they find out just how bad things are.

The golden rule in this quarantined environment is to stay a minimum of 4 to 6 feet away from every person at all times. Of course, the children don’t really know what is going on and may or may not follow these very important rules when not under supervision …

Katie and Jake form a bond amidst all the chaos, and this ultimately helps them get through a lot of the things they must endure during the most unimaginable events taking place. Both characters are strong, but caring individuals. They both learn to lean on each other as they deal with the virus that takes over their world, and threatens those they care about most.

“It’s not just people turning into zombies, it’s you losing loved ones and that’s very real and very scary,” says Gutoskie.

Containment airs next Tuesday, April 19 @ 9/8c on The CW.
