Taking the Mission: Impossible series to dizzying heights, the second half of the 2023 release called The Final Reckoning pushes the envelope so far that it makes Dead Reckoning look like child’s play. More engrossing stunts from the whole cast, action that takes your breath away and a superior connection of the two parts make the film a must see. If you are an action fan and have not seen Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, I advise you to check it out on streaming or Blu-ray as it will make your experience with part 2 so much better.
Let me take you back a bit even if you saw the first half. Ethan Hunt and his Mission Impossible team have been assigned to check out the possibility of a world take over by a mysterious entity. Having a cross key that would deactivate the dangerous enemy from destroying nearly all of the Earth, they still need to find the Russian submarine somewhere at the bottom of the ocean. So begins an exciting trek that will take the team in regions of the globe they were not expecting while following the lead of the most incredibly daring agent the world has ever known, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise).

From the exciting opening scene to the unexpected finish Director Christopher McQuarrie’s film keeps the pressure on in what may be the last mission Ethan Hunt will ever take. Using enough CGI to put even the most genuine action fan on the edge of their seat, he lays out a wild and woolly stage with the amazing cast of characters putting on a an electrifying secret service drama. That said, be ready for a slow moving story in the beginning that really doesn’t take a frenzied flight until about 30 minutes before the 2nd act. McQuarrie likes a lot of build up before he lets all the dogs out and it shows in Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning.

When you go to see Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning check it out in IMAX or better still at a large screen Dolby Cinema Auditorium with overhead speakers and rumble effects. It’s a fun ride and will surly keep you awake during the nearly 3 hours.
Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for strong violence and action, bloody images, and brief language. The peril gets a bit over the top and may be challenging for immature youngsters, but I’ve seen much crazier scenes in other action dramas. For the target audience of adventure, action and spy thriller it’s a MUST SEE.
