The finale to an amazing and original fantasy story. This beautiful story has sadly come to an end, but all things must end but wow they went out with a BANG. They had everything in this movie. An amazing variety of dragons, comedy and the growing love between the star cross lovers Hiccup “Jay Baruchel” and Astrid “America Ferrera”, and even between two dragons “Toothless” and the new dragon “Light Fury”. With the discovery of the dragons DreamWorks Production Studios and director “Dean DeBlois” has pushed the limits for our love for the fantasy creatures, dragons. And they had not only new never before seen dragons, but all the dragons found in the two previous movies as well. I have yet to find someone who doesn’t like the “How to Train Your Dragon” series.
If you don’t know what the “How to Train Your Dragon” series is or what it is about, this storyline is about two sworn enemies coming together and living in harmony. The original part is that it isn’t two tribes of people butting heads, actually it is the Vikings against dragons. In the land of “Berk” which is the land of the Vikings until the dragons came to live peaceful along the side of their former foes. Now since Hiccup and his team Fishlegs “Christopher Mintz-Plasse”, Ruffnut “Kristen Wiig”, Tuffnut “Justin Rupple”, Snotlout “Jonah Hill” and his girlfriend Astrid became the dragon saviors , their land of Berk is full to the brim of rescued dragons.

A Vikings first instinct is to kill dragons, the people of Berk have learned the truth of the dragons and their being softhearted when not hunted but people from other lands live their lives hunting dragons. As in the second movie the Berkians all had to fight to keep their dragons from the poachers and killers. Well through all the people that were fought to keep Toothless (Hiccup’s dragon) and the others safe they all were up against the do-all kill-all and inconceivably ruthless enemy yet, Grimmel “F. Murray Abraham”. With the overpopulation of dragons on Berk they all set out to find an old sailors tail of the birthplace of all dragons in which they call “the Hidden World”. But they had to hurry before Grimmel caught up.
The use of the color of the dragons (new and old) is beautiful as well as the scenery. The quality of the animation showed everything that you may look in other animated movies produced by DreamWorks. The comedy composed by the dragons is a big part of the experience of the fantasy world. The funniest dragon to me is a frog-looking dragon who is told to be a demonic and cursed to all who see it. The best dragon that they have showed was a dragon named “Light Fury”. A light fury is a dragon like toothless but they are white and can actually turn invisible on command. As they thought that they were all extinct toothless has found love. The moral to the story isn’t much that the children who will watch it would understand. The story is aimed at the parents because it is talking about the growing up of their child and what they may feel as their kid leaves home and starts their new life as an adult.

Teen audience comments: “I thought it was cute once I gotten into it. I’m not really into the whole fantasy movie genera, but it was good and I would love to go back and see it again and go and watch the first and second one as well”. “I like the sense of the humor and the way it was intertwined with the whole storyline plot.” “The beginning was a little confusing at first but once it got later into the movie, it started to make more sense.” “The ending was very cute and the moral of the story was a little cliched, but it showed the growing up of a child and the stress that parents go through once their child grows up and leaves home.”
A beautiful family film that all will appreciate. Even teenagers should come to watch this movie for the sheer enjoyment of a flashback to their love of the first movie of the series which came out in 2010. It is most definitely worth the money to see it. Bet you will see me there opening day in the front of the line.
This movie is Rated PG for adventure action and some mild rude humor
