Tori Amos Announces North American Leg of ‘Night of Hunters’ Tor

Singer, song-writer, pianist, Tori Amos has just announced the dates for the North American leg of her Night of Hunters tour. The fiery red-head behind twenty plus years of some of the most iconic alternative folk rock of our generation is about to drop the title album Night of Hunters (Deutsche Grammophon) this September, which will be her twelfth release in a groundbreaking career. The anticipated tour will begin in November on the 29th. Read on for more dates and purchase info …

Amos’ Night of Hunters is described as a “ … 21st century song cycle inspired by select classical pieces spanning the last 400 years.” And with the album, she carries on the classical tradition of variations on a theme: taking inspiration from classical forms to create a bold new work while paying tribute to the mastery of the original compositions.

We consider Amos to be the master of subtle yet effectively powerful reinvention. She somehow manages to emerge from her cocoon each time as freshly compelling an artist as ever, while always staying true to her core. She could teach Gaga-Donna a thing or two.
