It is already close to the end of October, and 2023 is rapidly approaching. Only the holiday months remain. Luckily, there are some great video games coming (and one already out!) that will help everyone end 2022 with a bang, boom or boss.
Let’s look at the top 10 video games headed our way between now and the new year.
- Scorn. This terrifying first-person horror adventure just dropped on October 14, 2022 — just in time for Halloween. There is basically no dialogue, but you are interacting with everything around you, solving puzzles and exploring haunting and creepy regions filled with all manner of creatures that mainly want to kill you in some gruesome or gory way. The visuals are very artistic and well thought out. When playing, you are seeing everything from your character’s perspective – holding items in your hands… not just floating on screen. It gives the action and perception of things around you a little extra realism since you are a little more immersed in gameplay. You can find Scorn on PC and Xbox.
- Persona 5 Royal / October 21, 2022. Join the Phantom Thieves of Hearts in this JRPG, Anime game as they stage grand heists, infiltrate the minds of corrupt people and make those bad, naughty people change their wicked ways. Will be on Switch, PC, Xbox and PS.
- Gotham Knights / October 21, 2022. Lovers of Batman will mourn his loss, but take comfort in his counterparts who step up to fight crime and monster baddies. Join Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin and Red Hood as they work together to protect the citizens of Gotham. Will be on Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
- Bayonetta 3 / October 28, 2022. This action-packed game has a new cast of characters mixed in with some familiar “pigtails”. The Umbra Witch must use her signature guns and time-slowing abilities to face off with some mysterious evil entities, known as Homenculi, which turn out to be manmade bioweapons. Bayonetta also has a new ability that allows her to channel the demon linked to her weapon, resulting in some pretty exciting action options and combos. Will be on Switch.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II / October 28, 2022. Everyone’s favorite first-person shooter is back, dropping players into an unprecedented global conflict that features the return of the iconic Operators of Task Force 141. Will be on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
- God of War Ragnarök / November 09, 2022. Many are awaiting this epic adventure as they contemplate their journey with Kratos and Atreus through each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for the ultimate, prophesied end-of-world battle. The game boasts stunning landscapes, mighty Norse gods and terrible monsters. In the end, Kratos and Atreus will have to make decisions throughout the game that ultimately decide whether they will fight for the safety of the realms or only do what is necessary to stay alive. Will be one PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
- Valkyrie Elysium / November 11, 2022. This action RPG game has taken a more anime-style spin on the Ragnarok legend. This story follows Valkyrie, who was created with the last of the All-Father Odin’s strength. Her only mission is to serve as the emissary of redemption as the end of times looms over the realms. She is the only salvation left in a doomed world. Will be on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC.
- Floodland / November 15, 2022. A survival game with a twist — the world has already been destroyed by climate change. Now it is all about rebuilding in a saturated world of water and waste. Limited resources and conflicting cultures mean you have to be smart, scavenge, negotiate and battle to stay alive and thrive in an otherwise devasted planet. Exploration and research are key to survival alongside strategic choices when building out your new civilization. Do you have what it takes to build and lead a new society in this swamp of a world? Will be on PC.
- World of Warcraft: Dragonflight / November 28, 2022. If you love WoW you are probably already aware about this upcoming release where players can dominate the Dragon Isles as a newly awakened Dracthyr Evoker. This is the first-ever playable race-and-class combo. Players also have the ability to become a dragon rider, a new ability to master aerial movement. There are so many more things to look forward to with this new content, from new special moves, more customization options, new level cap, new raid, new dungeons, new talent system, professions and crafting, new HUD interface and more. - Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion / December 13, 2022. This remastering of Crisis Core comes complete with updated graphics, combat systems and soundtrack. Action RPG Players will follow the tale of soldier operative Zack Fair as he discovers the secrets of Shinra’s dark experiments. Will be on PlayStation Portable and PC.
