The next chapter in the world of Spiderman becomes a little tricky to talk about without revealing some of the surprises this film has to offer. Based on the previous installment and what the studio has brought to the public through its trailers is how I will describe my explanation of this amazing phenomenon.
What we know so far is that Quentin Beck / Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) before his death, has revealed that Peter Parker is Spiderman and that he is behind the London invasion and controlled the drones designed by Stark Industries. With J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons) broadcasting to the world these exploits by Peter Parker/Spider-man (Tom Holland), things have now become rough for him, and a few others; Michelle “MJ” Jones (Zendaya), his girlfriend, Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), his best friend, May Parker (Marisa Tomei), his Aunt, and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau).
Needing help or some option to somehow stop his new found disruption of his life, he turns to Doctor Steven Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), in hopes of finding a solution. This turns Peter’s world upside down as both he and Doctor Strange open up a can of worms when the Multiverse starts bringing enemies of Spiderman to his world. They both have to find a way to reverse this new treat or they will surely perish.
Director Jon Watts does a spectacular job with controlling the storyline and keeping it from getting out of hand. He also presented an excellent narrative that included fantastic special effects that really brought each character to life. With all the events and developments throughout this action packed tale he keeps things moving forward.
With the amount of characters and their back stories I thought this might become too out of focus for the viewer to try and digest what the motion picture had to offer. I am excited to say that Spider-Man: No Way Home was presented in a way that keeps the audience riveted. Also this is an incredible movie to watch in the IMAX format.
Final Comment: I based my grade on remarkable effort by the director to keep the story on track as well as the outstanding special effects displayed throughout the picture.
