During our lifetime we all experience tough days from time to time, while some can be rougher than others, most of the time we deal with them well. Adding in some unexpected outside occurrences into the picture can possibly bring you to the brink? When trying to do everything yourself and having the world fall down on you, it can develop into a nightmare for anyone. Let’s say the worst possible day at the wrong time might put you into a situation that can be impossible to overcome. It’s the “straw that broke the camel’s back”
This tale involves a hard-working mother, Janiyah Wiltkinson (Taraji P. Henson), who dreams of being a nurse. When her daughter, Aria (Gabrielle E Jackson) was born everything changed, it became more important to provide for her child and because Aria was born premature, she was sick often. Dealing with the expenses on her own, Janiyah, had no one to turn to, her new life took away her dream of being a nurse and forced her to find whatever jobs she could find. Having to use most of her time working two different careers throughout the week and caring for her daughter the rest of the time, these events have begun to wear on her.
On the other side of town was Nicole (Sherri Shepherd), a bank employee that chose to move from a popular branch to work as a manager in a rougher part of Atlanta. She enjoyed this opportunity, because she felt that she could somehow help people in this area and be more appreciated. At Janiyah’s place of work was her best friend and co-worker Tessa George (Ashley Versher) and her boss and manager, Richard (Glynn Turman). On a normal day things were not so busy, and she was able to enjoy her time helping customers at work, but today was payday for the locals and things were much more intense. Near home Janiayh had some acquaintances that she would care to, like Benny (Sinbad), a local homeless person, who she would confide in and help him when she could.
While things were going as usual in most of the city, Det. Kay Raymond (Teyana Taylor) and her partner Det. Grimes (Mike Merrill), were checking out their normal case load. Chief Wilson (Rockmond Dunbar) was keeping things under control down at the station and the Atlanta area was experiencing a better time on the streets. What they all didn’t know is something was about to happen, and it would change all of their lives forever.
This fantastic intense and emotional tale that director and writer Tyler Perry put together is a true masterpiece and cut above all his other films. He was able to pull in the true emotion that unveils what these current times we all are experiencing show us. Also fully bringing out the state of mind of what this character was enduring was exceptionally genuine. The intense scenes and dramatic scenarios were remarkable and realistic, including the outstanding performance from Taraji, Sherri, and Teyana.
This extreme narrative that expresses the intense situation that occurs, will definitely surprise everyone as the realization comes clear. Be ready for what you are about to encounter because you will be shocked at what Tyler delivers. You should make time to view this amazing motion picture sometime real soon.
Final Comment: I based my grade on the marvelous performance from the cast, and the incredible storyline.
