The Marvel realm has had many changes over the years, with the Decimation, the Snap, and the Blip occurrences, everyone is still trying to make sense of the world and what their purpose is within it. New heroes are needed now that the old ones are lost and many think that maybe we don’t need them at all. Some superheroes try to find their way and discover it is not as easy as it seems.

In Ramonda tragedy has struck with the death of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) the country is now left without a Black Panther. His mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett)  assumes the throne and tries to keep peace with the rest of the world. With the heart-shaped herbs destroyed by Erik “Killmonger” Stevens (Michael B. Jordan), there is no return of their true leader and protector. Torn by the death of her brother and not being able to use her scientific skills to save him, Shuri (Letitia Wright) feels that she has failed her family, and country.

Now that the world is aware of the abilities of this powerful metal called Vibranium, they are all searching for it. Everyone now knows that Wakanda is the only country that possesses it. So threats and attempts have been made by other countries. Ramonda pleads to the United Nations to prevent further encounters, but another attempt is made and everyone is wondering who made this attempt. With the protection of Okoye (Danai Gurira) The General of the Dora Milaje and Wakanda’s all female special forces they will stop at nothing to defend Wakanda’s borders.

Shuri (Letitia Wright) feels that she needs to take action and tries to locate who is behind these attacks and Queen Ramonda seeks help from Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) , the once girlfriend of T’Challa. The hope of Wakanda rests on these heroes’ shoulders to finally discover what treats they all face.

Director and writer Ryan Coogler attempts to make an adventure like no other but instead creates an average film still worth seeing in the theater. The special effects are fantastic and the story is still very entertaining. Ryan does put together an excellent tribute to Chadwick Boseman with this narrative and moves this iconic tale into a possible successful future.

Keep in mind many of these newer Marvel movies have a lot to live up to, so even inventing new ways to grab our attention can be very difficult. There is still plenty of action, fighting, and adventure for all to see. As always staying for the credits is a must and this event is no different.

Final Comment: I based my grade on the enjoyable storyline and the  fantastic special effects.
