One of the hardest things to do when you are going to college is to find a roommate that you are compatible with. Some schools assign you to a room and you have to figure it out quickly or you will have to suffer throughout the year. Others allow you to choose your friend in hopes this prevents any poor placements. Nonetheless, finding someone that you will get along with is a chore in itself and can hopefully prevent you from that dreaded doom.
When Luna (Storm Reid) begins to lose it with her roommate, Auguste (Ivy Wolk), Dr. Robyn Schilling (Sarah Sherman), Walton College’s Dean of Student Life swoops in to try and resolve their conflict. Once a former resident assistant, she begins a story about two former students Devon and Celeste, in hopes of helping Luna and Auguste. Driving from experience Robyn begins to grab their interest as she leads into the school’s history of dorm conflicts.
Trying to fit in her entire time while in high school, Devon Weisz (Sadie Sandler), a shy, introvert from Montclair, New Jersey, now has the job of finding someone to room with for her freshman year. Having a chance to pick someone to live with is an option at Walton College. During the summer, the new students are required to attend a get to know you camp so you can find that special person to hangout with all semester long. Running late to the event, Celeste Durand (Chloe East), meets Devon and they hit it off, becoming her confident and self-assured roommate from Stamford, Connecticut. What is expected to be a great year for both Devon and Celeste, turns out to be a nightmare for the both of them.
During their first terms experience, Devon and Celeste meet many interesting characters, like Professor Ziemann (Janeane Garofalo), Devon’s new architecture professor, Michael (Billy Bryk), a senior architecture student and teacher assistant, George (Martin Herlihy), the president of the frisbee club, and Goose (Josh Segarra) the camp instructor. When the opportunity arises, Celeste gets to meet Devon’s family, Hannah Weisz (Natasha Lyonne), her mother, Brian Weisz (Nick Kroll), her father, Alex (Aidan Langford), her younger brother, and Gigi (Carol Kane), her grandmother.
Attempting to deliver a classic with the Happy Madison production company, Director Chandler Levack includes a cast of upcoming stars that help boost this script’s chances at becoming just that. Having a more serious storyline that leads one character to another and then a conflict between both of them is the premise of the tale. Showing these serious problems many college students endure, especially during their first year, displays what can happen and if there are possible resolutions for their predicaments. In her first major role in front of the camera, the inclusion of Sadie was definitely at the right time, along with Chloe together they were spectacular. The performance from the crew was fantastic and wonderfully intriguing throughout. Another worthwhile streaming possibility from Netflix will successfully meet your expectations and fulfill your entertaining needs for that evening.

Final Comment: I based my grade on the outstanding performance from the cast and the amazing narrative.
