I am sure you are all aware of public television and have probably had a favorite show that you watched over the years on that network. Most of you may be familiar with the famous painting shows that were broadcast over the years. Bob Ross was a famous television artist who painted for ages on public television. Motivated by these types of characters helped to develop this humorous drama about the influence this type of television can create.
Popular Vermont public television painting entertainer Carl Nargle (Owen Wilson), (a fictional character inspired by television personality and famous painter Bob Ross) starts dropping in the ratings. The station manager. Tony (Stephen Root), decides to hire another painter for a new show, Ambrosia (Ciara Renee). She’s a young enthusiastic individual who begins unknowingly to stir up things. As the station begins to embrace Ambrosia, once loved Carl begins to notice the support he used to have begin to fade away.

Once fans of Carl. station executive Katherine (Michaela Watkins) and other station workers, Wendy (Wendi McLendon-Covey), Jenna (Lucy Freyer), and Beverly (Lusia Strus), begin to drop off Carl’s band wagon and become fans and supporters of Ambrosia. Carl will have to find a way to turn things around or he will be living in his van somewhere else.
Director and writer Brit McAdams does a great job establishing an excellent storyline that will make you laugh. By including fantastic comedians he is able to make this tale come alive and to successfully entertain the audience. Using a fictional account of an inspired television personality helps bring familiarity to the narrative and allow everyone to follow along on this wonderful journey.

In summary, an adventure that takes place in Vermont that includes a challenge that the main character must face, helps drive you through his journey on how he finds his way back. A fun event for everyone that will put a smile on your face, is worth giving it a watch.
Final Comment: I based my grade on the funny storyline and fantastic performance by all the actors.
