‘The Fabelmans’ the Visions of a Genius Revealed

A producer, Writer, and Director, Stephen Spielberg made many great hits as we know from his early years; Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Goonies, Jaws,  Schindler’s List and the Indiana Jones series. His long successful career extended to produce more recent hits, such as, Lincoln, War Horse, Men in Black, and the Adventures of Tintin. He now puts together a masterpiece that is considered to be a semi-autobiography of his youth.

This loosely based story on Stephen Spielberg’s childhood up through his teenage years, shows and depicts how Stephen was influenced by film at an early age. It goes through his early childhood in New Jersey, to when his father uprooted the family to Arizona and then finally his high school years in Los Angeles, California. Lastly, it shows his dealing with racism against his jewish heritage and gives you a sense of how hard things were during those times.

Director and writer Steven Speilberg does an excellent job presenting this depiction of how his interest in filming and production began. He does a fantastic job expressing the hardships he faced throughout his childhood including the problems he experienced being jewish throughout his life. Steven also creates and shows a spectacular example of how tough the times were during the late 50’s and early 60’s for most families.

Final Comment: I based my grade on an outstanding presentation of how Sammy’s storytelling attraction began and the wonderful acting that brought the tale to life.
